CIVITAS Foundation for a Civil Society
Mission:
CIVITAS Foundation for Civil Society aims to encourage the local and regional
development.
The Premises of the Establishment
Civitas Foundation was founded in October of the year 1992, its main motivation
being the need to develop the ability of the public administration and the
need to stimulate citizens' engagement in taking decisions and in administrating
local communities.
The way we accomplish our mission is as it follows:
in order to develop a successful activity Civitas has established
as main goals:
- elaborating and implementing projects in the field of local and regional
development;
- developing relations between public local administration and the population,
supporting local activities;
- offering specialised consultation in different fields for local public
administrations;
- organising specialised courses for elected civil servants and from local
public administrations
- supporting the forming and the functioning of non-governmental organisation.
In order to achieve these goals we initiate and carry
on projects and we offer training and consulting services.
Services
The services of the Civitas are organised on three levels:
- the functioning of a resources centre in order to support local and regional
development;
- training in several fields:- the management of the public administration
(operational and strategic management);
- the management of human resources;
- communication in institutional management;
- project management;
- local and regional development;
- the financial management of the local communities.
- consulting in:
- elaborating strategies of development on local and regional level;
- making projects proposed for financing;
- human resources management, staff policy;
- financial management and local finance;
- legal consulting in administration law;
- institutional communication;
- making exposing and promoting supports.
Target
The beneficiaries of the services of the Civitas include:
- local public administration institutions;
- non-governmental organisations
- private firms, producers union and craftsmen union;
- other agents, who are involved in the local and regional developmental
process.
Publications
Civitas Foundation publishes books, leaflets and materials concerning local
and regional development headed towards local and regional public administration's
activity
"Interetnica" is a monthly magazine on interethnic problems.
