SUB-REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE'S OFFICE

The Sub-regional Representative's immediate office ensures the efficient functioning of the Sub-regional Office and oversees the utilization of the staff and the resources allocated to it; participates in the development and implementation of a coordinated and balanced programme of work of the Organization and liaises with national authorities and other segments of the Organization. Activities:

• Develops, monitors and supervises FAO programmes in the Sub-region.
• Represents the Regional representative in liaising with sub-regional organizations and FAO Members.
• Takes initiative in promoting technical and economic cooperation among countries of the Su-region as well as in the identification and formulation of projects and programmes in the Sub-region.
• Provides appropriate decentralization support services, including sub-regional technical officers or consultants as appropriate.
• In addition to her function the Sub-regional Representative performs the duties of the FAO Representative in Armenia, Georgia and Moldova.
