Emergency livelihood support for host communities and refugees in Bangladesh

Apr 2018

Through the promotion of micro-gardening practices, distribution of food storage drums and implementation of farmer field schools in Bangladesh, FAO, together with IOM, are expanding Rohingya refugees and host communities' nutrition and dietary diversity, building their production capacity and increasing household food safety and availability. Necessary inputs are being distributed to vulnerable populations to improve livelihoods.

This household-level support component of FAO’s programmes  is targeted to both populations to enhance resilience, ensure food security and nutrition and mitigate social tensions. Additional activities target farmer groups and community-level support.
