Ecosystem approach to fisheries and aquaculture: Implementing the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries
Dec 2009

The FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF) was unanimously adopted in 1995 by the FAO Conference. The CCRF is voluntary, although parts are based on international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The CCRF covers all aspects of management and development of fisheries, including capturing, processing and trade of fish products, fishing operations, aquaculture, fisheries research and the integration of fisheries into integrated coastal area management (ICAM).
