Food is more than what satisfies our hunger.

Food is culture, policies, economics, nature… Food is life, food is everything. Food is a human right.

CFS produces guidelines and recommendations as global tools and guidance for transforming food systems. These products will also serve as reference tools for the UN Food Systems Summti 2021.

In 2004, the Right to Food Guidelines were adopted by the 127th Session of the FAO Council, and are addressed to all States and stakeholders.

The vision of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is to be the most inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together in a coordinated way to ensure food security and nutrition for all. It underwent reform in 2009 to ensure that the voices of other stakeholders were heard in the global debate on food security and nutrition.
