Strengthening Coherence in FAO’s Initiatives to Fight Hunger
The paper describes the key elements of FAO’s strategic thinking and action on hunger reduction. While all of FAO’s actions and programmes contribute directly or indirectly to hunger reduction this document addresses only the more recent ones that have been undertaken as follow-up to the World Food Summit (WFS) and the World Food Summit: five years later (WFS: fyl) including some that relate to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) process. This paper describes these initiatives and explains how they relate to each other in the context of the twin-track approach to hunger reduction.
