| Sessions and Meetings of the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) |
| The FAO Council formally established the Intergovernmental Working Group (IGWG) for the Elaboration of a Set of Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Progressive Realization of the Right to Adequate Food in the Context of National Food Security during its 123rd Session in November 2002. Since then the IGWG has held five meetings - its First Second and Third Sessions an intersessional meeting of an Open-ended Working Group and its Fourth Session which was held on 23 September 2004. During its Fourth and final session the IGWG adopted the Voluntary Guidelines and submitted them to the CFS for endorsement and transmission to Council. |
