| Anti-Hunger Programme - A twin-track approach to hunger reduction:priorities for national and international action |
| The Anti Hunger Programme forms a central element of FAO's contribution to the MD Project and the strategy to achieve the MDGs. It is a proposal to all the stakeholders and actors in the fight against hunger: No additional resources are sought for any particular organization it is built on the belief that not only is the attainment of the target still within reach but it can also be realized within the sustainable development framework. This paper contains a cost estimate for each of the priority areas examines how these might be financed by the developing countries themselves and the international community. Of the various conceivable options for sharing the cost Anti-Hunger Programme the one suggested in the paper assumes an equal sharing between the international donor community and the recipient developing countries. |
