The Right to Food Knowledge Centre is a unique repository containing a collection of analytical, educational and normative tools that offer guidance and hands-on advice on the practical aspects of the Right to Food. As the Knowledge Centre is continuously updated it provides you with the latest tools and information relevant to your work with the Right to Food.

The subsections give immediate and unlimited access to a variety of methods and materials targeted to different audiences with different needs. These audiences include policy makers, practitioners, general public/civil society, NGOs/CSOs, UN Country teams/FAO and media.

Right to Food Methodological Toolbox

The purpose of the Methodological Toolbox is to provide a practical aid for the implementation of the Right to Food Guidelines. It contains a series of analytical, educational and normative tools that offer guidance and hands-on advice on the practical aspects of the right to food. It covers a wide range of topics such as assessment, legislation, education, budgeting and monitoring. It emphasises the operational aspects of the right to food and contributes to strengthening in-country capacity to implement this right.

Right to Food Handbooks

The “Right to Food Handbook” series is a collection of 10 publications, prepared in collaboration with PROSALUS, based on the different volumes of the Right to Food Methodological Toolbox. Each publication provides practical information and guidance on how to implement the right to food and apply human rights-based approaches to key areas of work, namely, legislation, monitoring, assessment, budget and education.

This section provides access to the Legislative Database on the Right to Food, a tool that refers to the Guide on Legislating for the Right to Food with the main developments of the right to food legal frameworks at national level.

Learning Resources

Learning Resources

The Learning Resources includes the cartoon book “The Right to Food: a Window on the World – Resource and Activity Guide” and “The Right to Food: a Window on the World – Illustrated by Young People for Young People”, which are designed to educate young people about the right to food and encourage them to take action against hunger in the world, as well as songs intended for using music as a learning solution.
