  Global Food Crisis and the Right to Food Interactive Thematic Dialogue of the UN General Assembly, 6 April 2009, New York

Hunger is a human rights issue. Never before has this linkage been so strongly recognized as in the context of the global food crisis that started in 2007 with the soaring food and energy prices and that continues today as a result of the financial crisis and economic slow-down. After the Human Rights Council in May 2008 and the High Level Conference on World Food Security in June 2008, the U.N. General Assembly will hold an Interactive Thematic Dialogue on the Global Food Crisis and the Right to Food on 6 April 2009. This is an important occasion and we invite you to follow the discussions.
