FAO believes that the Rio vision of sustainable development cannot be realized unless hunger and malnutrition are eradicated. It requires that both food consumption and production systems achieve more with less. The transition to a sustainable future involves fundamental changes in the governance of food and agriculture and an equitable distribution of the transition costs and benefits.

The FAO publications contained in this section include the most recent publications related to the main themes of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development – Rio+20.
