SARD Initiative Good Practices Database

This is a collection of SARD good practices that have had a demonstrated impact at community level, it includes cases, lessons and successful stories documented through interviews and field assessments by Initiative’s stakeholders in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Each practice pays particular attention to innovative elements, success factors and outstanding issues, while highlighting the environmental, social and economic benefits. The practices are sorted by region and by the FAO Best Practice themes. This effort adds value to and updates existing databases of SARD good practices such as the Compendium of Land and SARD Cases (Pretty and Koohafkan, 2001), Bright Spots demonstrate Community Successes in Africa Agriculture (Penning de Vries, 2005) among others.
