Geneviève Dionne (Anthropologist)


As part of the SARD-Initiative team in FAO, Geneviève performed the following tasks:

• Participated in the redaction of a paper on “Organizations of the Poor” by doing background research, writing up drafts, supporting the writing of the final drafts and putting together the comments of several reviewers;

• Ensured good communications with Civil Society Major Groups including attending an MG meeting, taking and circulating minutes, coordinating and organising conference calls, and interviewing some focal points to obtain more information on each MG in view of updating the SARD Website;

• Assisted the preparation of TORs for P4 and APO positions for the SARD Resource Facility;

• Assisted in integrating comments in the SARD-Initiative proposal;

• Attended the SDA retreat and took minutes;

• Recruited the next two volunteers which included selecting them among other applicants, writing their Terms of Reference and dealing with other administrative issues;

• Carried out other tasks such as: preparing comments on the Institutional Guidelines - Rapid Guidelines for Mission and on CERFE’s Dossier on Methodological tools; preparing background information on Eco Earth Alliance, WOCAN, and Institute for Global Learners; finding documents on Cambodia’s strategy for poverty alleviation (PRSPs); attending several other meetings, conferences and seminars.

Geneviève is currently a PhD student at McGill University.
