Charlotte assisted FAO's Task Manager for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural
Development (SARD) in all matters associated with follow-up to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD, 2002) including the following:
• As part of a team, designed and organized a Committee on Agriculture (COAG) side-event "SARD Initiative Stakeholder Design Consultation", which involved approximately 100 government, inter-governmental organization and civil society participants;
• Prepared project proposals, log-frames, principles of commitment, letters of understanding, questionnaires, correspondence and other documents on themes identified by the Major Groups and FAO as part of the design process of the SARD Initiative;
• Compiled and maintained a database of all stakeholders, including governments, inter-governmental organizations and civil society organizations interested in the Initiative;
• Prepared briefs, minutes and records for FAO officers, management and stakeholders on progress and WSSD follow-up related to SARD and the SARD Initiative;
• Organized and facilitated multi-stakeholder conference calls, SARD Interdepartmental Task Force meetings, and other interdisciplinary meetings;
• Participated in meetings and negotiations with government and civil society delegations.
Charlotte is now working as a consultant at Federabitazione Europe, Rome, on the SHE
(Sustainable Housing in Europe) Project.
