Useful tools for potential funding sources: Global Plan of Action for the Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, and Mountain Partnership databases
Information on potential funding sources for activities in the field is available through the databases developed by the Global Plan of Action for the Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (GPA) and the Mountain Partnership Secretariat.

The GPA databases, including more than 180 funding programmes of public and private donors, are related to:
  • Funding Programmes on potential funding sources for projects and programmes contributing to the implementation of the Global Plan of Action. It provides detailed information about a large number of individual funding programmes, including information on eligibility and application process.
  • Bilateral Donors which gives a general view on bilateral donors’ priorities in their Official Development Assistance (ODA).
Searches can be conducting according to a variety of criteria and topics, such as agriculture, rural development, government and civil society, biodiversity, natural resources, etc.

The database provided by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat gives information about the availability of funds from 586 possible sources (financial institutions, foundations, multilateral development banks and donor agencies) on an on-going basis. It also offers free on-line resources and tools as well as practical suggestions and guidelines for funding and proposal writing.

Databases are accessible through the links on the right-hand bar.
