As part of the SARD Initiative team in FAO, Giorgia performed the following tasks:

• Updated the SARD Initiative and the SARD website uploading new pages, improving and updating existing pages and uploading the French and the Spanish version of the site;

• Assisted in the design and development of a framework for inventorying SARD Good Practices by reviewing the Compendium of Land and SARD cases and analysing and evaluating different data banks and web-based information.

• Assisted in volunteer recruitment, selecting applicants, writing Terms of Reference, providing training and appropriate support in the context of administrative problems;

• Ensured good communications with Civil Society Major Groups, organising conference calls, and interviewing some focal points to obtain more information on each MG with a view to updating the SARD Website;

• Assisted in other tasks such as general communication with Major Groups, updates to the SARD Initiative mailing lists, technical review of internal documents, attendance at SARD meetings, minute taking, etc.

Giorgia is currently completing an internship in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
