Food Loss & Waste (FLW) Protocol, Pilot testing

16 Jan 2015

The Food Loss & Waste (FLW) Protocol is a multi-stakeholder effort to develop the global accounting and reporting standard for food as well as associated inedible parts removed from the food supply chain. In February 2015, pilot testing of the “zero” draft FLW Protocol Accounting and Reporting Standard will begin. In addition to gathering input from pilot testers, we will also in a similar time frame widely circulate the draft standard for public review.

All interested stakeholders are invited to participate as Pilot Testers. This is an opportunity to help determine whether the requirements drafted to date in the standard can be implemented by the wide range of entities for which they have been developed. Pilot testers will receive a full draft of the standard as well as a feedback and inventory report template and questionnaire. The pilot testing can be undertaken with existing quantifications of FLW, studies under development, or work anticipated but not yet launched. The pilot testing process will continue until April 30, 2015.

If you are interested in participating as a Pilot Tester, please complete the short response form at this link. Please feel free to reach out to Brian Lipinski ([email protected]) or Kai Robertson ([email protected]) for more information, or learn more at the FLW Protocol website.
