One of the major roles of FAO's Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction (SAVE FOOD) is to bring together initiatives and action on reducing food loss and waste from all over the world to promote collaboration and partnerships. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation started the Widespread Replication of Successful Post-Harvest Technology in Latin America Project (Proyecto Postcosecha América Latina – PPAL) at the end of 2012. The United States Environmental Protection Agency recently unveiled its Reducing Wasted Food and Packaging Toolkit, which is designed to save money by reducing food and packaging waste.
