Closing Workshop for Project "Capacity Building for Food Loss Reduction in the Near East"

  • 2017: The main objective of TCP/SNO/3501 “Capacity Building for Food Loss Reduction in the Near East” was to implement a training and awareness-raising program to strengthen national capacity of local leaders of producer associations, food industry managers and extension personnel on good practice in food handling and improved value chain management. The participating countries are Egypt, Iran, Jordan and Lebanon whom all share the same common issues of concern for food security; food loss and waste (FLW) reduction; poverty alleviation; health and safety of the population and preservation of the natural environment. National Workshop : Capacity building for food loss reduction in the Near East & the Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction

  • 2017: Under the patronage of H.E The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Ghazi Zeaiter, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture in Lebanon held a two-day National Workshop on food loss reduction on April 24 and April 25 in the Lancaster Tamar Hotel, Beirut. The workshop presentations were held by Technical National Consultants from the Lebanese University, Project Coordinators from the Ministry of Agriculture, and experts from the FAO. [read more]

  • 2015: FAO Regional Office for the Near East in collaboration with the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is organizing a Regional Multi-Stakeholder workshop on Food Security and Nutrition, in Amman, Jordan from the 28-30th April, 2015. On the agenda is the critical issue of FL&W in the Near East and North Africa, and the emerging and planned actions among the region’s countries.
