March 2001 Virtual Extension-Research Communication Network (VERCON)
The Communication for Development Group, Extension, Education and Communication Service (SDRE) and the Research and Technology Development Service (SDRR), in collaboration with the World Agricultural Information Centre (WAICENT) Outreach Programme, are pleased to present two concept models for using the new information and communication technologies (ICTs) for agricultural and rural development. One of these concept models is the Virtual Extension-Research Communication Network (VERCON), which uses ICTs to improve linkages among research and extension systems. A VERCON project is currently being implemented on a pilot basis in Egypt. (Also available in French and Spanish)
