Agricultural workers need an educational system which will help them to resolve their problems

This paper is the result of an informal electronic conference. The e-conference was held in order to discuss ways in which basic education might be able to offer a more effective contribution to rural development in Latin America. The electronic conference reached educators and educational institutions in addition to the students and other beneficiaries of the educational system. Approximately 400 institutions and individuals from 19 countries took part in this conference.
