World AIDS Day Symposium - HIV/AIDS as an Emergency

This year's World AIDS Day Symposium held at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations focused upon the relationship between the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its role in emergency situations, in particular the current food insecurity situation in sub-Saharan Africa. The symposium was expected to raise issues which would help FAO to work together with member states in order to mitigate the effects of the AIDS epidemic on the agricultural sectors in those countries.
