The Questionnaire on this CD-Rom is part of a research on the processes of decentralization conducted by the Rural Development Division of FAO.
This research aims to identify a limited number of group-types of decentralization process and to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each group-type in order to develop some guidelines in
improving the decentralization process in rural development.

The series "Decentralization and Rural Development" was initiated for the Technical Consultation on Decentralization (held in Rome, December 1997) as the outcome of the work undertaken within the Rural Development Division on this topic (also available on the "SD Dimensions" FAO Web Site).
