reliable, high-quality independent reporting and information dissemination
services for a wide range of initiatives that are advancing the sustainable
development agenda. It aims to increase the transparency of the international
policy-making process by expanding the volume, breadth and quality of
information and providing more comprehensive coverage of environment
and development negotiations. It provides either daily summaries of
each previous day's events and/or publishes a 8,000-10,000 word summary
(depending on the meetings length) at the conclusion of the meeting.

SD dimensions – Sustainable Development Department-FAO
Website by the Sustainable Development Department (SD) FAO which serves
as a global reference centre for knowledge and advice on biophysical,
biological, socio-economic and social dimensions of sustainable development.
It was established by FAO in January 1995, in response to the need
to take a more holistic and strategic approach to development support
and poverty alleviation. Its main themes include environment (biodiversity),
people (gender, participation, sustainable livelihoods), knowledge
(extension and communication) and institutions.

Integrated Support to Sustainable Development and Food Security
(IP)
IP seeks to promote multidisciplinary collaboration within FAO and
with the public sector and civil society in order to enhance sustainable
development and food security. Small project activities are used as
a mechanism to bring together partners from different sectors to address
the issues that underlie poverty and food security. All activities
are normative, and include policy support, training, capacity building
and awareness raising.

The Southern African Regional Poverty Network
SARPN's ultimate goal is to contribute to the sustainable reduction of poverty through effective pro-poor policy, strategy and practice in the SADC region. Its purpose is to deepen and widen debates on policy, strategy, practice and decision-making processes that impact on poverty in the region. SARPN provides platforms that widen participation by bringing people together across the region to exchange ideas, and disseminates information to deepen understanding of poverty issues and improve policy and practice.
