El empoderamiento de las mujeres rurales (la esposa del productor)
BUNYAD, Lahore, Pakistan

Introducción
En el área rural de la provincia de Punjab, la más grande de Pakistán, un 25 % de las mujeres es alfabeta; es necesario considerar que un 65% de la población vive en el área rural (72 millones). La Organización no Gubernamental, el Consejo Comunitario de Alfabetización Bunyad en Lahore, Pakistán, cree en la equidad de género y expresa que “la primera etapa para el desarrollo es el alfabetismo. Acercándose al problema se observó que muy pocas niñas/mujeres sobre los doce años eran alfabetas. Ellas dependían unas de otras: de los hombres de la familia o de las mujeres más ancianas.

Introduction Women in rural villages in India today tend to be treated as second class citizens. Their primary responsibilities are to look after the family and household and work in the rice fields. Little else is expected of them.

Agriculture Integrated Development with "Wa Nye U Saalu Zie" association
Burkina Faso (Africa)
The program is managed by NGO CELIM Bergamo

Introduction The project area covered twenty villages of IOBA Province in the south-west of Burkina Faso. The project aimed to support the "WA NYE'" Association in its actions for an auto-development of the community by increasing agriculture productivity and improving breeding activities. Any action was supported by animation, researching and training activities coordinated by an équipe of two volunteers and two local technicians. The project included also training sessions with CESAO experts at Bobo Dioulasso.

PROGRAMMES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF CHILDREN IN ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT CIRCUMESTANCES
(C E D C) OF URBAN POVERTY
The program is financed and managed by NGO PHRCAD

Introduction The proceeding analysis shows that the situation of children and women in Nigeria is more than ever a victim of economic and political stagnation. Living standards have deteriorated, especially so in urban areas when compared with countryside. Consequently, over one third of Nigeria's children live in poverty stricken families mostly in poor communities. The stressful environment in which child and mother live explains the major underlying and basic causes of deteriorating mortality and morbidity trends, as well as reasons for low access to basic social needs.

Co-operative Youth Organization Nepal (COYON)

Introduction Recognizing the need for a more pragmatic approach to education that help meet our local demands at the bottom level whilst opening up opportunities and possibilities that can be used in enhancing nation's extremely diverse cultural particularities, in a thoroughly sustained and forward looking manner, Co-operative Youth Organization Nepal (COYON) was established in Benighat VDC of Dhading district, Nepal in the year of 2002. We are a team of well aspirant youths working to introduce such community - based educational and awareness programmes which we consider to be not only essential but very vital for moving towards achieving a confident and self reliant society.
