| The project targets farmers who work on milk production. This food chain depends on the health of beef and on good quality of pastures. For these reasons the goal of the project is to produce safe forages.
The trainees learn how to increase awareness and utilisation of non-forage feed resources for diary cattle, how to incease local milk production, how to handle milk, how to transport it and about its processing and pasteurization.

The TCP/UGA/2256 "Strengthening programmes for rural youth and young farmers in Uganda", was designed to revitalize the rural youth programme which has been declining over the past two decades and, given the magnitude of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Uganda, to assess the socio-economic impact of HIV/AIDS on rural families and develop the framework for an HIV/AIDS component for the young farmers programme (YFP). |
