The report is the outcome of an Expert and Inter-agency Technical Meeting co-organized by ILO and UN DESA and in cooperation with FAO and IFAD on a set of core themes such as: “Opportunities and challenges for promoting rural development”; “Creating an enabling environment for investment, employment and decent work in rural areas”; “Giving a voice to rural stakeholders”; “Youth as engines of rural development”; “Promoting integrated approaches”; and “Reaching strategic decision-making”. This report is a training tool for capacity development initiatives aimed at educators on rural development, and planners.
