This book targets programme planners and technicians in the fields of nutrition, food security, agriculture, community and social development; the aim is offering them guidance in adopting a long-term perspective to address problems of household food insecurity and malnutrition during periods of crisis and recovery. It provides a framework for an implementation strategy that focuses on saving lives in the short term to ensure households to be less vulnerable to food and nutrition insecurity in the future. Its purpose is to establish a common vision and standpoint to assess, analyse and improve nutritional well-being in a variety of emergency context.
