| This is a series of guides designed to address the entrepreneurial development needs of institutions that support rural communities. The first manual, A Guide to Developing Partnerships, Territorial Analysis and Planning Together, provides methods to define a project area, develop partnerships with likeminded partners and undertake a select enterprise groups based on their livelihood profiles. The second guide is a marketing manual that can assist service providers to support smallholder producers in making decisions on which product to invest in. The third manual, Increasing the Competitiveness of Market Chains for Smallholder Producers, is designed for first-time users. It starts with a detailed analysis of a selected market chain, followed by an analysis of key points in designing an agro-enterprise support strategy for the chain. The fourth, Collective Marketing for Smallholder Farmers, outlines the benefits of collective marketing and the strategies that different types of farming communities in Uganda can use.
