| This document is a training tool for capacity development initiatives aimed at educators on rural development, and planners. It is also a useful tool for NGOs, university professors, students and researchers of the agriculture rural development and education sectors. The document provides an overview on the initiatives undertaken by French NGOs in the area of basic education for rural people in Africa.
As the survey results illustrate, 57 of the 70 French NGOs contacted confirmed that not only do they consider the important role that Education for Rural People has to play throughout the entire development process, but that they also incorporate its elements into their projects.
