| This manual is a training tool for capacity development initiatives aimed at educators on rural development, and planners. It is also a useful tool for university professors, students and researchers of the agriculture rural development and education sectors. It focuses on the evolution of forestry extension and communication system (E/C) in four countries in West Sahelian Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal.
It provides an historical overview of E/C Systems, the techniques, methods and approaches used by local organization that could be useful for other developing countries which experience similar socio-economic and environmental trends.
