| This report presents the main outcome of the workshop held in Lilongwe, Malawi in April 2005. It presents also a proposed action plan for future work as suggested by the workshop. This workshop followed the findings of two studies on training needs for rural radio in Africa (1999 and 2000). The results of the two studies showed that there was a need for training in Rural Radio in the Eastern and Southern Africa region where no school in Rural Radio exists. This report is a useful tool to sensitize policy and decision makers on the status of rural radio and its practitioners in East and Southern Africa. It is also useful for university professors, researchers of the agriculture rural development and education sectors. |
