TECA enables their partners and the global community to access information on agricultural technology that is essential to achieve rural sustainable development by providing:

• access to knowledge about technologies for agriculture, livestock, fisheries and forestry that are common and available in homogeneous zones;
  
• capacity to manage and systematize successful practices with a standard methodology;
  
• updated and validated information;
  
• contact with the National Agriculture Research System and;
  
• linkages to main repositories related to agriculture technologies.

There are many benefits for an institution joining TECA Initiative:

• Increased visibility and dissemination of their own technologies by being a member of a global initiative.
  
• Access to a pool of proven technologies that have been successfully applied in other countries and that could be disseminated and adapted in their area of influence.
  
• The opportunity to document information on proven technologies in digital format at low cost and in a standard format. This information can then be converted to different formats to reach different target groups (policy makers, farmers, technicians, etc.) using other media such as radio, TV, leaflets, newspapers, manuals, etc.
  
• Provide remote access to information for extension services, farmers' organizations, etc. that will find information in a summarized, attractive, practical and easy to read format. TECA records can be used to prepare fact sheets and technical manuals to facilitate the adoption and dissemination of proven technologies. They can also be converted in an suitable format for farmers to support technology adoption processes through communication for development and technical assistance.
  
• Provide appropriate and accurate content for the development of training programmes thus contributing to personal and institutional capacity building.
