TECA initiative promotes synergies and elaborate collaborative programs in research and technology knowledge transfer where the partner organizations can best utilize their comparative advantages to address the needs of small holders.

TECA Partners in mutual agreement with FAO work in support of the implementation of the global Technology for Agriculture (TECA) Initiative, to improve access to agricultural technology information and knowledge and to save efforts and promote synergies in technology transfer in support of poverty alleviation through in kind collaboration in information exchange.

TECA is working closely with the technical departments in order to provide a coordinated framework for information on proven technologies within FAO Headquarters, Regional Offices and partner institutions. In FAO, TECA is collaborating with the Fisheries Global Information System FIGIS, the Horticulture Cultivars Performance Database HORTIVAR, the Information Network on Pos-Harvest Operations INPhO, the Forest Products Service (for Wood Energy) and with the Livestock, Environment and Development Initiative (LEAD).
