International Year of Soil: Scotland’s Contribution

Hosted by Rob Gibson MSP, SEPA, United Nations Institute for Training and Research, CIFAL Scotland, SRUC, SNH and The James Hutton Institute the event will mark the beginning of the IYS2015 in Scotland and provide a platform for showcasing Scotland’s active engagement with sustainable management and protection of soil resources, using the best available scientific information and building on all dimensions of sustainable development.

The International Year of Soils presents an opportunity for all different land users and population groups to learn from one another to ensure that Scotland has effective policies, research and actions enhancing and preserving the health and diversity of our soils today and in the future.
