  • Mission statement: IIAP's mission is to generate and incorporate knowledge, innovative technologies and ancestral knowledge at the service of societies and ecosystems.

  • Legal status, particularly with the Government - The institute was created in 1981 during the Political Constitution of Peru of 1970. It is an agency attached to the Ministry of Environment and therefore a public body.
