FAO works closely with the Government of South Sudan to improve nutrition and eradicate hunger in the country. FAO Provides support in three priority areas described in the Country Programming Framework (CPF) 2018-2021: sustainable increase in production and productivity for food and nutrition security, support economic growth and income, increase resilience of livelihoods to threats and crisis.

Main goals

  • Provide rapid emergency livelihood support to the most crisis-affected and food-insecure populations;
  • Protect food production and availability in less directly affected areas; and
  • Provide critical information for all stakeholders in food security response through information, analysis and coordination.
