Support to NPFS

Regional Programmes strengthen National Programmes through capacity building and training sessions with country representatives.

The UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union) Regional Programme is working to strengthen the national capacity for surveillance and control of intraregional trade in animal products. One initiative is to select experts from the region to train local health inspectors to test and evaluate meat products and to implement animal quarantine regulations. The Regional Programme held a three-day workshop in April 2007 on the implementation of the national component and expansion of the regional component.
