Check out the new FAOSTAT data release on pesticides use. It contains statistics on the agricultural use of major pesticide groups and of relevant chemical families. Data are disseminated by country, with global coverage, over the period 1990–2018, with annual updates.

How local and global agricultural markets can contribute to sustainable development while leaving no one behind.

In addition to supporting the regular collection of high-quality dietary data following standardized methodologies, the publication also aims to promote dialogues on and appropriate application of the data towards informing policy and programming decisions and monitoring and evaluation of nutrition outcomes and progress at global, regional, and country levels.

Global and regional consumer price indices (CPI) measure food inflation for a group of countries at different geographical scales: sub-regional (e.g. Middle Africa), regional (e.g. Africa) and global (all countries). Country and regional consumer price indices are updated in FAOSTAT on a quarterly basis. 

The Statistics Division (ESS), through its newly revamped website, collects and disseminates timely and reliable food and agricultural statistics globally. The Food and Agriculture Statistics website is the most important source of information related to food security and nutrition, crop and livestock, economic, social and environmental statistics.

These Guidelines offer methodological and practical guidance for the production of direct and indirect disaggregated estimates of SDG indicators having surveys as their main or preferred data source. Furthermore, the publication provides tools to assess the accuracy of these estimates and presents strategies for the improvement of output quality, including Small Area Estimation methods.

The 18th edition of FAO Statistical Development Series offers both a distinctive panorama of country census practices across the regions of the world and an international view enabling comparison of the structural characteristics of national agricultural sectors. FAO hopes that this exceptional information will serve as useful reference material for national census agencies for census planning and implementation, and for policymakers and researchers who are interested in development of agriculture.

 New French version of the FAO publication "Incorporating environmental flows into “water stress” indicator 6.4.2" now available online!

This year’s report presents new estimates on the pervasiveness of water scarcity in irrigated agriculture and of water shortages in rainfed agriculture. It provides guidance on how countries can prioritize policies and interventions to overcome water constraints in agriculture.

Food Outlook is published by the Markets and Trade Division of FAO as part of the Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS). It is a biannual publication focusing on developments in global food markets.  Food Outlook maintains a close synergy with Crop Prospects and Food Situation, produced by the GIEWS, especially regarding cereals.
