Side event at CFS 42: "Joining efforts on sustainable food and agriculture"

FAO's Strategic Objective 2 and The European Commission’s Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development are jointly organizing a side event entitled "Joining efforts on sustainable food and agriculture", Thursday October 15, from 08:30 to 09:30, on the occasion of the 42nd Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS 42), at FAO HQ, Rome.

Only by applying sustainable agricultural practices will we be able to feed the world’s growing population, today and tomorrow. To tackle this challenge and achieve food security, actors from different sectors and levels must work together.

FAO and EU are joining forces through various initiatives. This side event will present the priorities and commitments of FAO and DG DEVCO and discuss the role of development partners to facilitate the shift to sustainable agriculture. The wide range of stakeholders in the audience, including civil society, academia, the private sector and country representatives, will be invited to participate in an open discussion and share their experiences on these topics.

The 42dn Session of the Committee on Food Security will take place in headquarters from 12 - 15 October during World Food Week (WFW).
