La visión de la FAO de una alimentación y una agricultura sostenibles se presentó durante la 10º edición del Salón Internacional de la Agricultura de Marruecos, SIAM, celebrado del 28 de abril al 3 de mayo.

FAO’s vision for Sustainable food and Agriculture (SFA) was presented at the 10th edition of the International Agriculture Show in Morocco, SIAM, that took place from April 28 to the May 3 in the imperial city of Meknes. Organized under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohamed VI, SIAM has become an annual event bringing together various stakeholders in the agricultural sector at national, continental and global level.
FAO contributed through organization of several conferences in collaboration with with the Moroccan government, the Netherlands, Canada and the Arab Maghreb Union. The SFA approach was presented by Alexandre Meybeck, Senior Officer for Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change at FAO, at a well-attended event dedicated to various topics related to sustainable food production.

"We need an approach to agriculture that integrates the economic, environmental and social dimensions of sustainability, and allows a stronger integration between sectors and subsectors" said Alexandre Meybeck.
