The EX-ACT VC tool analyses the environmental and socio-economic performance of value chains from producers to retailers, comparing the current situation of the value chain and an upgraded scenario induced by a project. The comparison is based on the analysis of agricultural production and land use changes, as well as of the processing, packaging and transportation phases of the agricultural product.

EX-ACT VC is mainly used for simple value chains appraisal in developing countries. It is a multi-agent based tool and uses numerous indicators to give results about climate mitigation, resilience and socio-economic performances of food value chain.

EX-ACT VC covers crops, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture value chains at micro and meso level (by agent, by stage and for the whole value chain).
