Implemented by FAO and funded by the EU, this four-year project will focus on strengthening linkages between small producers and buyers in roots and tubers value chains in seven African countries. The project will cover the countries of Cameroon, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Malawi, Uganda and Rwanda. It adopts a value chain approach and has four areas: (i) technical support and training for more supportive agri-food strategies, (ii) improving sustainable intensification of production, promoting inclusive business models, and capacity upgrading for farmer organizations and small-and-medium-sized enterprises for improved competitiveness; (iii) improving access to information services and finance, and (iv) enabling access to climatic risk management instruments for small producers.
