This FAO publication synthesizes information on the use, yield and socioeconomic impacts of agroforestry practice in Malawi and Zambia. It suggests that agroforestry is a promising approach to “climate-smart agriculture” for smallholder farmers, increasing yields and mitigating climate change. Key constraints and needs for further research are discussed.
