The aim of this Guide is to describe the process of establishing successful Community Conservancies using the model developed by The Northen Rangelands Trust (NRT). This guide provides information on what a Community Conservancy is and its function, as well as present examples of successes, challenges and best practice in different areas of conservancy development based on over 10 years of experience in the field. Although it drawn on the experience in Kenya, the information presented can be applicable elsewhere in the world.
