Deputy Minister of Agriculture pays courtesy call to FAO Representative

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Innocent Bashungwa, on Friday January 11 held discussions with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative to Tanzania, Fred Kafeero and his assistant responsible for programmes, Charles Tulahi on areas of collaboration in improving agriculture in the country

This was the first time for him to meet with FAO leadership since his appointment by President John Pombe Joseph Magufuli in November last year. During the talk, FAOR informed the Deputy Minister that FAO as a technical agency will continue to work with the government in improving the policy and     technical frameworks that are key in the development of the sector. Besides, he said, being a co-Chair of the Development Partners’ Agriculture Working Group, FAO will seek the support of other partners in transforming Tanzania's agricultural sector.
