CSO networks
FAO works with a number of CSO networks, for example:

International NGO/CSO Planning Committee for Food Sovereignty (IPC)

The IPC was established in 1996 to function as an organizing committee for the NGO forum that took place parallel to the World Food Summit and the World Food Summit: five years later and bought together over 700 organizations. The IPC promotes principles, themes and values developed during the NGO/CSO Forum for Food Sovereignty in June, 2002. Taken together, these principles, themes and values pose a new global paradigm for food security based on health, culture, social justice and environmental sustainability. The IPC as a network joins over 300 CSOs and has continued to play an important role at the global and regional levels to exchange information, voice the concerns of the hungry and poor, and influence policy and action regarding food security issues in close collaboration with FAO.

the Ad Hoc Group of International NGOs with formal status with FAO

Over 200 CSOs have formal status at FAO. Feeling the need for a common strategy and seeing the advantages of combined effort, the organizations with representatives in Italy established the Ad Hoc Group of International NGOs with formal status with FAO. The committee meets regularly to develop joint positions and to coordinate activities with FAO such as the annual World Food Day. Further information is available from the Chairperson, Mr. Paolo Rozera.
