The Sponsored Fellows initiative is another scheme giving dynamic young professionals a career boost in international development. Fellowships are externally funded by a variety of institutions and para-statal organizations.
The Young Professionals Programme builds the capacities of young men and women from developing and transitional countries in various fields related to agriculture and food security.
Another possibility for those wanting to gain experience at FAO is the Volunteer Programme. Though unpaid, the Programme gives volunteers experience of a United Nations agency and a better understanding of FAO’s mandate.
