IFDCP Areas of Interest

The main thematic areas of this component are:

  • strengthening of local skills;
  • development of the territory;
  • urban and peri-urban agriculture;
  • integrated use of water;
  • improvement of agricultural productivity/production and diversification, post-harvest activity (marketing, food processing, etc.).

Thanks to the Italian Government, which opened up the way to collaboration between FAO and Regional and Local Authorities, similar initiatives are currently ongoing between Regional and Local Authorities of France, Spain and Belgium, for a total of 40 projects with a value of approximately USD 25 million.
