The Technical Cooperation Department (TC) supports the achievement of results under FAO's new Strategic Framework by:
  • assisting in mobilizing resources and South-South Cooperation;
  • preparing for, and responding to, food and agriculture threats and crisis;
  • programming of investments for agriculture, rural development, food security, nutrition and resilience.
TC hosts three divisions: the Emergency and Rehabilitation Division, the Investment Centre and the South-South Cooperation and Resource Mobilization Division. It also manages the approval of emergency and interregional Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) projects and the peer review of regional TCPs. It coordinates corporate guidance in the use of the TCP, and reports to Senior Management and Governing Bodies on execution.


The Technical Cooperation Department is committed to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals specifically the goal of eradicating extreme poverty and hunger.
